MVDr. Barbora Červená, Ph.D.

Veterinary parasitologist, scientist

During my studies at the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno, I wrote my thesis on elephant parasites, which I continued to study during my doctorate. As part of my work, I visited Malaysia, Brazil, Kenya, Gabon, South Africa, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and fell in love with the "dark continent." I met Arthur in 2014 after following the activities of Save-Elephants, z.s. for some time. In 2015, I went to Brazzaville to take care of Cama and Shon's litter of puppies, and since then I have been mainly helping with the dog project.

Totem animal: lioness, Cape aardvark, forest elephant, pangolin

Super personal thing: a tattoo of Africa with an elephant and an African woman on my ribs below my heart, originating from Africa and tattooed by an African in the rainforest

What I bring back from Africa: trinkets, bizarre things like a pink aardvark statue, functional things like a laundry basket
